Show Your Colors Flag

Show some patriotism with Susan K. Cleveland's Show Your Colors quilt (32" x 21"). Fifty prairie points are pieced into the flag which is surrounded by piping and a border. Special techniques include embellished prairie points and piping. If piping and prairie point stitching are eliminated, the project is suitable for beginners.

Bunny Tote Bag ITH design

Comes in 3 sizes will fit 5x7, 6x8 and 7x10 hoops
All fully lined with concealed seams
Finished bags are 5x5, 6x6 or 7x7 and approximately 2 inches deep (not including handle).
You will need to sew one seam on the sewing machine to put the bag together then can either hand sew hole or top stitch it shut on the sewing machine.

IQ Designer Quilting in the Hoop- Part 2

Unleash a whole new world of quilting with your embroidery hoop. Learn quilting with IQ Designer (Valiant, Destiny, Altair, Meridian, Solaris). We will use a printed panel to create a mini quilt or table runner that is easily quilted in the hoop.

Project Pet Adoption



This will be an online sewing event. Please call or email the store and let us know you wish to participate so that we can get you the patterns and designs prior to the event as well as a link to participate in the online event.



We have partnered with Caddo Animal Control to assist in making their adoptable animals more attractive. We will be making and customizing bandannas for the animals as well as creating items such as embroidered towels that can be sold in their thrift store to raise funds to support the animals.

Get out your sewing, embroidery and vinyl machines and thread/vinyl and we will provide the designs and together we can make a difference in the lives of these special animals! Don't own an embroidery machine, use your Cameo! We will let you know when fabric kits are ready, so make sure you sign up!

Scrapbooking for Quilters

Children's Sew Day - Serge Day

It is time to start our preparations for Children's Sew Day at the Revel.
Our day of serging will be at the Shreveport Sewing Center (10:00 - 3:00) where we will serge the sides and add on the straps. Please help us prepare for this year's Children's Sew Day and have some fun while we do it.

Children's Sew Day will be the 2nd weekend, October 10, 2020, of the Red River Revel. If you would like to volunteer your time to work with the kids on this day please let Debbie know.

Ruker of the Month

Each month we will explore a different Quilting Ruler.
- Different designs that the ruler can be used for
- Techniques for using rulers with your domestic machine and with the long arm
- Typical quilt blocks that work with this design
You will practice your skills with a small quilt sandwich that you can save for future reference
Your homework will be to practice your skills
One a quarter we will have a workshop where you use the monthly rulers to make a table runner or mini quilt.

Serger Club



We are postponing the start of our new Serger Club Program until we can meet in person. In the interim we will be hosting a number of other project classes online. These will be interactive and lecture /demo classes that will teach technique and result in you completing a project.



This month we will be making a Ruffled Deco Tea Towel. You will be using the following techniques:
- 3 thread Overlock Rolled Edge
- Cover Stitch Narrow Gathered

- One Tea Towel from All about Blanks
- Three- 2 ½" X 22" cotton fabric strips For Version 2 two 2 ½" strips and one 3" strip for the top ruffle

Embroidery Block of the Month

The Little Things
The embroidery applique designs for The Little Things are based on Scandinavian Folk designs. The finished quilt is pprox.. 58 ½" x 58 ½". Each of the designs has been divided up so that they can be stitched out using a hoop with an embroidery field that is at least 145mm x 255mm (5.7" x 10.0"). Alternatively, you can complete many of the designs in fewer hoopings using a hoop with an embroidery field approximately 200mm x 300mm (7.8" x 11.8").

Learn new and different ways to use your serger, share tips and tricks and stitch out a quick project. All types of machines are welcome; however, the user should be proficient in threading and operation of the machine and the machine must be in good working order. Kit charges, if applicable.
