Embroidery Workshop

Embroidery Block of the Month

The Little Things
The embroidery applique designs for The Little Things are based on Scandinavian Folk designs. The finished quilt is approx. 58 1/2" x 58 1/2". Each of the designs has been divided up so that they can be stitched out using a hoop with an embroidery field that is at least 145mm x 255mm (5.7" x 10.0"). Alternatively, you can complete many of the designs in fewer hoopings using a hoop with an embroidery field approx 200mm x 300mm (7.8" x 11.8").

Embroidery Club

Practice your cutwork skills with this easy 10 minute table runner. If you don't have an embroidery machine, you can join us for the sewing portion and learn to make a quilted table runner.

IQ Designer - Quilt in Your Embroidery Hoop

Unleash a whole new world of quilting with your embroidery hoop. Learn quilting with IQ Designer (Valiant, Destiny, Altair, Meridian, Solaris). We will use a printed panel to create a mini quilt or table runner that is easily quilted in the hoop.

IQ Designer is a wonderful tool for quilting in your embroidery hoop. Learn how to:

Game Night

We are planning a night of fun with games and snacks. Bring 4 fat quarters that you are willing to share and your game self and have a great time. Three of the fat quarters will be used in the games and you will have an opportunity to walk away with more than you came with. The fourth fat quarter will be a donation for a store quilt. We hope to work with you to develop a scrappy quilt to be displayed in the store that will represent our wonderful sewing family so bring something that distinctively represents you.

Come unwind with a few games, snacks and soft drinks.

Children's Sew Day - Cut Day

It is time to start preparations for the Red River Quilter's Children's Sew Day at the Revel. We will have a fun day of cutting on February 21 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bossier from 9:00 to 3:00 so bring your scissors, rotary cutters and cutting mats and let's get some tote bags cut out.

Our day of serging will be April 24 at the Shreveport Sewing Center (10:00 - 3:00) where we will serge the sides and add on the straps. Please help us pre-pare for this year's Children's Sew Day and have some fun while we do it.

Children's Sew Day will be the 2nd weekend, October 10, 2020, of the Red River Revel. If you would like to volunteer your time to work with the kids on this day please let Debbie know.

T-Shirt Quilt - Part 1

Showcase special memories in a personalized quilt! Denise gets you started, sharing stabilizing, sizing and cutting tips to help you turn a stack of T-shirts into fabric that's ready to be stitched. Next, explore fun layouts, from units of different sizes to eye-catching staggered blocks. Add color, texture and cohesion to your design with plain, pieced and slat filler strips. Then, construct your quilt. Finally, add sweet finishing touches with a range of border and backing options.

Fee $30 (two 2 hour sessions) plus longarm rental at $15 per hour
