Embroidery Club

Straw holder from Jazzy Zebra

Join the move to preserve our Oceans by reducing the amount of plastic that we use that could end up in our oceans. Make this useful straw holder that fits easily in your purse so that you are never without a straw.

The 6" reusable straws fit in the 5x7 bag and the 8" - 9.5" straws fit in the 6x10 bag.
These are made in 1 hooping and are designed for cork fabric and vinyl fabric.

•5x7 needs a 9" plastic zipper and 6x10 needs a 11" or 12" plastic zipper

T-Shirt Quilting

Showcase special memories in a personalized quilt! Denise gets you started, sharing stabilizing, sizing and cutting tips to help you turn a stack of T-shirts into fabric that's ready to be stitched. Next, explore fun layouts, from units of different sizes to eye-catching staggered blocks. Add color, texture and cohesion to your design with plain, pieced and slat filler strips. Then, construct your quilt. Finally, add sweet finishing touches with a range of border and backing options.

Fee $30 (two 2 hour sessions) plus longarm rental at $15 per hour

Supplies - 15-25 shirts, fusible interfacing, batting, backing, general sewing supplies, rotary cutter and mat

Serger Club

These are fun crates that can be made on any serger. Techniques involve working with wire and decorative thread with Three thread narrow or rolled edge. Instructions include how to make them in any size. Fun project. Think of all the ways you can use this crate including as a container for presents!

Kids Sewing

Kids sewing meets the second Saturday of the month from 9 am -12 pm except in June, July, August and October at a cost of $35 per session. Children must be at least 8 years of age to participate. Call the store for reservations 318-688-2402

Learn new and different ways to use your serger, share tips and tricks and stitch out a quick project. All types of machines are welcome; however, the user should be proficient in threading and operation of the machine and the machine must be in good working order. Kit charges, if applicable. Explore new and different ways to use your Cameo Silhouette machine. Sessions cover software, design creation, cutting and project ideas. Students have fun making their creative ideas come true with the assistance of experienced instructors. Reservations are appreciated so that we can plan.
